I wrote an action thriller while sleeping

I was the main character. My goal was to uncover some sort of conspiracy involving an underground dystopian city and end the killing spree of it’s psychotic leader. Unfortunately for me, I was constantly under attack by outside forces who didn’t seem to have motives. Upon breaking my way into the city, chased closely by these forces, I was eventually cornered and shot in the arm.

I fell to the ground, facing the floor, and it was then that some dialog took place above me, making it suddenly clear that I was the psychopath I was trying to hunt down. I was the leader of the dystopian city. The final scene was shot from my perspective only; I could see the ground I was laying on, I could hear the military personnel talking about my capture, and then I could see the giant pool of blood forming around my face after they shot me in the back of the head. Then everything quickly went dark.

I woke up very shocked and a bit shaken, thinking I’d just produced an amazing film in my sleep, until I realized the twist was basically a rip-off of Memento and Identity. Shit.
